4-H is the nation’s largest positive youth development and youth mentoring organization, empowering six million young people in the U.S. Last week Cottle County 4-H held sign-ups, a potluck meal gave annual high point awards to several club members.
The Clover Kids High Point Girl was Kadee Beck and High Point Clover Kid Boy was Logan Lecroy. In the junior division, fifth grader Gunnar Bowles and fourth grader Kennedy Whitaker were named High Point Boy and High Point Girl, respectively.
Seventh grader Jack Parks, and eighth grader Addyson Bowles were the Intermediate High Point Award winners. Senior Hailey Wright and sophomore Hayden Wright received the senior division's High Point Awards as well. The Rookie of the Year award went to freshman Caylin Flemons. The Silver Star award went to freshman Sawyer Thompson.
Several adult 4-H leaders and volunteers were awarded as well. Brad Blount, Alicia Nash, Betty Carr and Tammy Harrison were all honored. Outgoing extension agent Justin Nash was also honored with a plaque. 4-H members and parents all donated money towards a special gift for Nash, a Henry .22 caliber rifle.
