Holloway Speaks To PHS Math Classes

Posted Date: 11/06/2015

Retired Department of Public Safety state trooper and county judge Karl Holloway was a guest in Mrs. Thompson's sophomore geometry class last week. In class, the students were learning about inductive and deductive reasoning. Holloway discussed how he used those reasoning skills in his job as a state trooper to investigate car wrecks.  Holloway demonstrated how good reasoning skills outside of the classroom were used in everyday life.
Geometry teacher Nicole Thompson said, "It was helpful for my students to see how what we are studying in class actually had relevance to a real-life career. Mr. Holloway also gave them some great advice on always keeping your “nose clean” because you never know what career you might choose someday."
