Lizards Humiliate KC Hounds

 The Lizards played the Knox City Greyhounds on the Hounds home turf in O'Brien and brought home the win. Knox City kicked off and the Lizards took the kickoff with eighth grader Isaiah Maldonado returning the kick 70 yards for a touchdown. When the Lizards went on defense, seventh grader Jonathan Henderson and eighth grader Keyvondra Richardson worked together to keep the Greyhounds offense in check.

     On the very next possession, the Lizards marched down the field and were within 10 yards of scoring when the Lizards fumbled the snap. Knox City recovered and was moving the ball downfield when seventh grader Isaac Garibaldi intercepted a Knox City pass with less than 20 seconds left in the half. Garibaldi ran for the touchdown and Henderson scored the extra point to put the Lizards up 12-0 at the half. 

      After the half, Henderson came out and scored again on the Lizards next possession to make the score 19-0. The Greyhounds finally got into scoring position and scored on a sweep right. The point after attempt was unsuccessful but the hounds were on the board 6-19. Late in the third quarter Richardson added another Lizards score. The point after attempt was blocked making the score 25-6. Early in the fourth quarter Knox City scored again to make the score 12-25. On the Lizards next possession Knox City found its momentum and stripped the ball from the Lizards running it in for a score. The point after attempt was good bring the score to 20-25. The late push by the Greyhounds was not enough leaving the Lizards with the victory.
