Dragons Come Back On Mats

     Last Monday,  the Dragons hosted the Motley County Matadors at home for the third district game. It was a must win game for the Dragons if they wanted any chance for a playoff run. The game kicked off with a high scoring first quarter with Matadors leading 18-16.  The teams stayed close through the second quarter, with the Matadors outscoring the Dragons 13-4 and took a 31-20 lead going into halftime. 

     But the Dragons didn’t put their heads down and fought their way back into the game, scoring 36 to the Matadors 19 points in the second half.   The Dragons took the first district win with a score of 56-50. 

     High scorers for the Dragons were senior Marcus Cruz with 17 points, and junior Joseph Garibaldi with 16.

     The Dragons’ next district game will be at home versus the Guthrie Jaguars at 8 p.m.
