Jay's Fashion Forecast

As we come into the new year, we all seem to be stuck in this transition period. Texas weather prevents us from really bundling up from the cold, (without feeling uncomfortable),due to the temperatures always fluctuating. Here are some good tips on how to keep warm, or cool in any situation, and stay flawless.

When you find yourself in a bind trying to impress, but also wanting to try something new; my first tip would be to really mix and match clothing, especially patterns. Tribal patterns seem to be really in right now or try something knitted or crocheted. It seems layering is a really hot topic in Texas at the moment. You can always put on more or take off a little. Comfort is a big deal;  everything else is secondary.

When I think of fall/winter styles I tend to think of really deep warm colors, but since it’s getting closer to the spring I would recommend more blush colors, more tans. That doesn’t mean bold colors are necessarily a no, just think of accessorizing with more bronze and copper colors: tan pea coats are a great accent to any bold look.

Keep it neutral, and clean.

Another style worth a try are the iconic, ever classic rain boots. I can imagine that you might think, “Jay has lost it!”. But I am here to assure you, they are back!

Megan Inman said, “Rain boots are definitely a fashion twist worth a try! I also see a lot of mix-matching, things you wouldn’t think would work, are definitely working!”. Time to get rid of the riding boots!

One thing weighing on my mind would be the outcome of this spring's upcoming fashion season. The recent death of an iconic model in the fashion industry, David Bowie may impact the season. Bowie died on Jaunary 10 and I believe that his death really ignited something in the fashion industry. I honestly predict a really colorful spring, with tons of trendy patterns. The 80’s are somewhat back! Try something daring!
