The Lizards are continuing their undefeated season with a road win against the 7th and 8th grade teams. First the Knox City 7th grade team took the floor against the 7th grade Lizards. The boys' tough defense and ball handling put them up 12-6 by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lizards' defense held Knox City to just 6 points, but it was a close game going in to the halftime break at 18-12. Coming out of the half, 7th grader Isaac Garibaldi caught fire, putting up 12 points in third quarter, giving the Lizards momentum to roll through the fourth quarter to a 32-23 win. Garibaldi was high scorer with 19 points.
The 8th grade boys started their game by going on a 10-2 run with a fast pace and great ball movement. By the start of the second quarter, the Lizards had a ten point lead, 14-4. During the second quarter, the Lizards played lock down defense and didn't allow the Hounds a single basket going in to the half time break with a score of 28-4. Coming out of halftime with the same intensity and momentum, the Lizards ended the third quarter with a commanding lead, 41-10. The stats in the second half told the story of the game with the Lizards putting up 21 points to 9 points by the Hounds. The Lizards finished out the game with a dominating performance and final score of 49-13 with eighth grader Keyvondra Richardson pouring in 20 points to continue the Lizards undefeated season.
