Last Tuesday the Paducah Dragons traveled to Motley County and lost a nail biter to the Motley County Matadors. The first half of the game was a struggle for the Dragons with the Dragons trailing 23-26 at the half.
Coming out of the half time break, the Matadors managed to open up a big lead on the Dragons. Several Dragon players ended up in foul trouble and the end of the third closed with the Dragons down by eight points 28-36. But he tide seemed to turn the Dragons' way in the fourth as they were able to pull within one point. A long three pointer at the buzzer by junior Joseph Garibaldi looked promising as it swirled in the rim but heartbreakingly bounced out to signal a Dragon loss by a single point 51-52.
Point leaders for the Dragons were junior Joseph Garibaldi with 23 points, and sophomore Jacolby Burns with 10 points.
“I thought it was a very well played game between both teams. We had a shot to win it at the end and the ball just didn't go down,” head coach Will Flemons said.
