Science Projects Highlight Alternative Energy

Posted Date: 02/16/2016

PHS’s Integrated Physics and Chemistry class recently finished an alternative energy research project. Students had to research one renewable energy source and one nonrenewable energy source and give a four minute a presentation detailing their findings. The students also had to build a 3D model to represent one of the energy sources. The purpose of the research was to better understand conventional versus alternative energy sources.   Some of the projects included models of wind turbines and nuclear reactors.

IPC teacher, Alicia Nash said, “I was pleasantly surprised. The class turned in the best group of models I have ever seen.”

“I enjoyed building the model, it was more fun than I thought it would be,” sophomore student Oscar Martinez said.
