Freshmen Haley Hutchsinson and senior Leslie Mayo will represent PHS at the upcoming regional UIL Academic meet in Levelland.  Hutchsinson and Mayo won their respective events at the district UIL meet in Guthrie last week. Mayo placed first in computer science and Hutchinson placed first in ready writing. Twenty-five PHS students competed in various event last week.  Mayo and Hutchinson will try their hands at the regional UIL meet at South Plains College in Levelland on April 22. 

     “I've never qualified in Regional UIL before so it’s pretty exciting this time,” Mayo said.

     Hutchinson added, “It’s exciting getting first only being a freshman going against everyone in high school.” 

     “I am very pleased for our two ladies that advanced and I want that number to grow and I think in the years to come it will,” Principal Will Flemons said.
