Junior High Sports Banquet Honors Student Athletes

Posted Date: 05/29/2016

As the school year comes to an end, it's time to wrapping up all of the loose ends like celebrating PISD's athlete’s excellent work. Junior high  athletic accomplishments were celebrated last week at the junior high sports banquet.  Nearly 70 junior high athletes, parents and coaches arrived to a beautifully decorated school cafeteria and enjoyed delicious homemade lasagna, bread sticks, buttered corn, salad, and refrigerator brownies.

Athletic director Ross Johnson gave the welcome and Superintendent Brian Patterson gave the invocation. After the meal, each athlete was recognized with a participation certificate.  The junior high teams enjoyed enormous success this year with the boys team going undefeated in football, basketball and track. The evening ended with the junior high cheerleaders leading everyone in the singing of the junior high school song.

Cheerleader sponsor and one of the many parents who helped plan, decorate and prepare food, Sophie Garibaldi said, “Everything went really great. The food was delicious, and the kids looked amazing. I think it was a good turn out this year, I would like to thank the people that helped decorate and everything else.”
