Last Tuesday, the Paducah Junior High Lady Lizards , the PHS junior varisty and varsity Lady Dragons took on the Knox City Lady Grey Hounds and O’Brien . The Lady Lizards won, defeating O’Brien in there first game of the season.  The  Lizards came out hot and couldn’t be stopped by O’Brien. The squad rolled to an easy victory, 25-14. In the second set the Lady Lizards came out still on fire. While the ladies played with the same tempo and the same intensity, they had a harder time notching the win but still hung on for the victory, 25-20.
Hoping to keep the momentum going, the junior varsity squad took to the court but lost two out of three sets. The ladies struggled to put points on the board and suffered a tough loss, 6-25. They looked considerably better in the second set, showing a lot of hustle to the ball and making some impressive saves.  But it still wasn’t enough for the win against a scrappy Knox City squad,  16-25.
The varsity Lady Dragons fared no better, dropping 3 out of 5 sets. The first set saw some strong play, but Knox City powered past the ladies,  19-25.  In the second set, the ladies played well and hustled for every ball, giving theLady Greyhounds a better game but there efforts and their great plays weren’t enough to secure the win, losing 21-25.  In the final set, the ladies had the Greyhounds lost and all over the place. But the strong play wasn't enough to hold off a late Greyhound rally to lose the set 22-25 in a nail biter of a finish.
Coach Tribble commented on her team's performance, “Tuesday’s game was a tough loss. The girls played hard and are doing some great things.  However we are still making some minor errors that are costly. The errors can be fixed and with these girls work ethic it will happen.  I am very proud of the enthusiasm these ladies show during the games.”
