Although it is unusually early for Homecoming, PHS's festivities kick off dress up week on Monday with Nerd Day. Tuesday will be Tourist Day and on Wednesday expect to see double on Twin Day. Everyone's favorite day is pajama day, slated for Thursday, after a late night at the bonfire. On Friday, the halls of PHS are filled with students wearing their orange and white and the rustling and ringing of mums and garters.
On Wednesday evening, the classes will be cooking out at the bonfire site on the football field parking lot at 6 p.m. The bonfire will go up in flames on Thursday night at dark. The Homecoming pep rally will take place in the gym at 3:15 where the Homecoming Queen nominees will be introduced. The annual Exes Tea, sponsored by the National Honor Society, will take place in the high school commons right after the pep rally. All ex-students and PISD alumni are invited to attend.
On Friday night, the varsity football team will take on the Spur Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Last year's homecoming queen, senior Kristyn Deaton, will crown a new homecoming queen at halftime of the football game. Band Beau and Sweetheart will also be announced during the halftime show.
