The Lady Dragon junior varsity squad won two out of three sets The JV ladies played an amazing game showing a lot of teamwork and effort.  In the first set, the ladies won  26-24 behind sophomore Mickalea Frawner's strong play.  Freshman Marley Beck was on point with her serves in all three sets. The ladies lost the second set, 17-25, but played well nonetheless.  Freshmen Caylin Flemons and Lexi Lecroy stepped up with some awesome blocks and kills.  In the third set the ladies were determined to beat the Lady Hornets winning a close one, 16-14.
The Varsity Lady Dragons served up a nail biter all 4 of the 5 set they played , but fell short to the Lady Hornets. In the first set the ladies weren’t themselves and couldn't get a ball to fall in, losing 15-25.  Things didn't get any better in the second set.  The ladies made great plays but the bad out weighed the good and they again came up short 18-25.  The squad came out on fire in the third set and snatched a 25-22 from a scrappy Hornet's squad. Senior Leslie Mayo, freshman Kyanna Hurd,  and  senior Kristen Deaton were on fire. The trio killed ball after ball with sets from senior Ali Smith and junior Faith Walker.  Mayo kept the fans on their feet, killing balls against three defenders at a time.
The fourth was a true nail biter with teams trading points throughout, but in the end the ladies came up short, 27-25.  Even though it was a tough loss, the back row saw strong play from freshman Haley Hutchison,  senior Hailey Wright, and junior Elizabeth Ramos.  Wright, the team libero, notched dig after dig, frustrating the Hornets.
Coach Tribble commented on the girl's performance say,  “The girls had a slow start, but after a change in rotation, the girls came alive and fought hard . It was a tough loss but the girls played great and did an amazing job. I am very pleased with the progress the girls are making.”
