JV Dragons Fight Hard Against The Patriots

     Thursday night the JV Dragons took on the Valley JV team at home but the home field advantage and crowd did not help the Dragons against a bigger Patriots teams. The Patriots got an early lead on the Dragons, but they answered quickly when sophomore Jordan Mackey connected with  freshman Alec Roberts to tie it up 6-6.
     Junior Hayden Palacios and freshmen Dalton Howard, and Desmond Flemons all contributed with strong play but at halftime the Patriots were up 6-22. Late in the 3rd quarter, Mackey forced a fumble that was recovered by  sophomore Hunter Henry which lead to a great scoring run from Mackey, putting the Dragons on the board 12-36.
 
 
     Howard recovered the Pats' onside kick, giving the Dragons good field position. Henry made a great catch on  a crucial fourth down to give the Dragons some momentum. Roberts followed with a catch on the 2-yard line, and Flemons ran it in for the score. However, the burst came too little too late and the Pats took the game, 19-56.
